Regional infrastructure for growth

Fiber infrastructure for a growing Brazos Valley.

BVCOGNET is a 350-mile regional fiber backbone built as a long-term regional asset. A strategic connection can serve today's project while bringing fiber infrastructure closer to the next employer, community, public facility or service provider.

Infrastructure that keeps creating value

Build one connection. Create the next opportunity.

A major employer, development, public facility or provider partnership can create a reason to extend regional fiber. Once that infrastructure exists, nearby projects may become more practical to serve.

01A project creates demand

A new facility, expansion, development or provider need starts with a real connectivity requirement.

02The network may extend

Engineering evaluates how the project can connect and whether construction or a new lateral is feasible.

03Infrastructure moves closer

The extension can put regional fiber nearer to surrounding businesses, public facilities and future development.

04The region keeps the asset

The original project is served, while the expanded network can create new possibilities for future connections.

Every project is evaluated individually. A nearby extension does not guarantee future service or eliminate construction costs; serviceability depends on engineering, capacity, agreements and route requirements.

Plan growth with us

Do not let fiber become the reason a good project says no.

If you are recruiting an employer, developing a site, expanding a campus or planning a major facility, involve the fiber team early. We can evaluate the location before connectivity becomes a late-stage constraint.

Major employers & new facilities

Evaluate fiber proximity, potential construction and resilience needs while the site is still being planned.

Communities & economic development

Explore whether a strategic project could support both the immediate need and longer-term regional infrastructure.

Developers & site selectors

Bring connectivity into the conversation early for industrial sites, business parks, campuses and other developments.

One regional effort, three clear roles

Infrastructure, stewardship and service work together.

BVCOGNET is the regional fiber asset and infrastructure story. BVCOG provides regional stewardship, while commercial services and customer relationships are coordinated through Brazos 2020 Vision.

The Brazos Valley Council of Governments provides regional stewardship, planning, public-purpose coordination, construction and grant support around the network.

Services & customers

Brazos 2020 Vision

Brazos 2020 Vision, Inc. works with BVCOG to manage services delivered over BVCOGNET and the customer-facing relationships that turn infrastructure into usable connectivity.

How the pieces fit together.BVCOGNET explains the regional asset and major-project opportunity. Brazos 2020 Vision is the customer and commercial-service side of the relationship.

From need to infrastructure A healthcare challenge became a regional asset with room to grow.

Our story

Built for a public need. Ready for broader opportunity.

Rural healthcare providers needed dependable broadband to move medical information, reach specialists and use modern digital tools across long distances.

BVCOG organized a regional response with support from the federal Rural Health Care program administered by the Universal Service Administrative Company, Brazos 2020 Vision, Inc., and technical and construction partners. Initial network construction was completed in 2020.

The infrastructure built for that mission became a broader regional asset. Today, the backbone can support healthcare, education, government, nonprofits, businesses, major developments and provider partnerships across the seven-county Brazos Valley.

The next chapter Grow the network by solving real regional needs.

Each viable extension can do more than connect one location. It can add useful infrastructure to the region and create options for future projects nearby.

The network

Designed for long rural distances, resilience and expansion.

The backbone combines interconnected ring architecture, single-mode fiber and regeneration sites distributed across the region.

Route details stay private.

The public website shows the counties we serve, not fiber paths, shelters, splice points, customer locations or customer-specific routes. Serviceability and diversity are confirmed through engineering review.

Shared infrastructure

The network can help providers grow, too.

BVCOGNET can support more than direct end-user connections. Local ISPs, carriers and infrastructure partners may be able to use regional fiber, transport or interconnection opportunities to reach farther without duplicating every mile of infrastructure.

01

ISPs & service providers

Explore leased fiber, transport, interconnection and shared-infrastructure opportunities where capacity and agreements allow.

02

Cities, counties & EDCs

Bring major projects and development opportunities into the conversation early so connectivity can be evaluated alongside roads, utilities and site readiness.

03

Employers & developers

A project that requires network expansion may also create infrastructure that improves the economics of future connections nearby.

Partnership without unnecessary exposure. We do not publish customer lists, customer-specific routes or detailed network maps without an approved business reason and appropriate permission.

Who can start the conversation

Bring us a service need, a development plan or a regional idea.

The right starting point is not a bandwidth tier. It is the project you are trying to make possible.

Invest

Major employers & developers

New plants, campuses, industrial sites, business parks and expansions where reliable fiber is part of site readiness.

Grow

Economic development

EDCs, communities and site selectors working to attract investment and make locations more competitive.

Partner

ISPs & carriers

Providers exploring transport, interconnection, fiber leasing or shared-infrastructure opportunities.

Serve

Government & public agencies

Cities, counties and public entities connecting facilities, operations and essential services.

Care & learn

Healthcare & education

Organizations carrying forward the network's original mission while planning for modern digital operations.

Connect

Businesses & nonprofits

Organizations looking for commercial fiber service, resilience options or a path to better connectivity.

Regional reach

Seven counties. One connected region.

BVCOGNET spans the seven-county Brazos Valley and continues to evaluate customer connections, provider partnerships and network extensions where projects are feasible.

Fiber availability is an engineering question, not just a map question. Distance, construction, capacity, route design and the project itself all matter. Talk to us early—even if the final address or technical design is not yet settled.

How it works

  1. 1
    Tell us the project

Share the location, development, facility or connectivity challenge you are planning around.

  2. 2
    We review the opportunity

The team looks at network proximity, capacity, route considerations, construction needs and the type of partnership or service involved.

  3. 3
    We talk through options

If the project is viable, we can discuss serviceability, engineering, timing, responsibilities and the next steps.

Start a conversation

Bring us the project before fiber becomes the constraint.

You do not need to arrive with a bandwidth tier or finished technical design. Tell us what you are trying to accomplish and where.
